Spring is finally here, and what better way to celebrate than to share a beautiful wedding splashed with the bright colors of the season? This wedding was brought to us by the talented Kim Le Photography and coordinated by Cassandra Santor and her team at Beautiful Day.
Melissa and Ryan, high school sweethearts, came to us wanting a festive wedding full of family and FUN. Melissa chose a vibrant color pallet of pink and purple which was displayed in the beautiful floral arrangements by Janelly’s Flowers, the deep purple table linens, lavender bridesmaids dresses and the pink & purple specialty gobos on the altar wall.
Because Ryan is a service member of in Armed Forces, and a recipient of a purple heart, they decided to use the traditional sword arch as their grand entrance to the reception. Jay’s Catering provided the delicious meal that the guests enjoyed and danced the night away to the tunes of DJ Carcano.
A couple of weeks back we had the pleasure of attending The Cream, a wedding showcase featuring the “raddest” crop of vendors in the industry, at the very fun Book Bindery in Culver City.
Green Wedding Shoes is an online wedding + style blog that posts daily wedding trends and inspiration from Southern California for stylish & creative brides. GWS also has a plethora of online DIY projects for the crafty bride, so naturally, their booth was full of wonderfully inventive ideas that someone could recreate for their own event. We just loved the oversized paper flowers, paper chains & twine wrapped vases highlighted in neon, and the neon string heart!

Last Wednesday during Style Fashion Week LA, the local Los Angeles designer Skingraft put on its first runway show in over two years. Hundreds of guests packed the house to preview the Fall/Winter 2012 line, and none of them left disappointed–many commenting that it was the best line of the evening.

Alicia Estrada’s Stop Staring! hits the runway tonight at Vibiana for Style Fashion Week LA. From vintage-inspired cocktail dresses to classic-meets-cutting-edge rockabilly styles, local favorite Stop Staring!’s Fall/Winter 2012 preview is a retro chic can’t-miss!
We’re proud to announce that this marks our 100th post since starting this blog last year, and we’re just as proud to share one of our absolute favorite weddings from 2011, which is featured in the 2012 edition of Ceremony magazine!
Maria & Dayton’s gorgeous wedding was truly one-of-a-kind. Its emphasis on family and friendship was evident throughout. Maria looked stunning in her mother’s vintage wedding gown, and guests added their handprints to artwork that now hangs in the happy couple’s home.
Designer Brad Austin dressed the space in timeless beauty with thousands of lavender roses and phaelanopsis orchids covering the historic altar and beautifully lit candelabra centerpieces, all complemented by a rich palate of greens and purples, from the linens to the deep purple lighting. Their ornate five-tiered cake designed and created by Cake Divas featured hundreds of hand crafted sugar petals that adorned the confection from top to bottom.
Photographer Todd Johnson captured the day perfectly, allowing us and Ceremony Magazine to bring you pictures of this amazing wedding.
Thank you to all of you, our readers, as well as all of our vendors, clients, and friends who have made the last hundred posts so much fun. Here’s to the next hundred and more!

Among the rows of beautiful bridal eye candy a few vendors in particular stood out to us, including Superfine Bakery.
Andrea Boudewijn, owner and chef of Superfine is a true artist, creating cakes and confections inspired by fashion, architecture and nature. Her detailed sugar work is simply amazing — she can turn any client’s vision into a sweet reality. We can tell you firsthand, her cakes taste as good as they look! Superfine uses only the purest ingredients to create delectable flavors such as Champagne Raspberry Truffle and Fleur de sel Caramel. We tried the Pink Grapefruit cake and it was absolutely divine!
Below are a few photos we snapped at the event and some professional shots provided Andrea. For more information about Superfine Bakery, please visit their site and make an appointment to experience their cakes yourself!
The breathtaking High Society wedding photos that we promised you have arrived!
Amanda & Kadir’s stunning bohemian affair, highlighting their cultural backgrounds of Mexico and Turkey, is featured in the latest issue of California Wedding Day Magazine.
Larissa of Inviting Occasion provided an explosion of color and texture with her floral and tabletop design that included turquoise vases and colored glass, along with lanterns and vibrant blooms and fruit. The couple incorporated various types of ikat fabrics from Uzbekistan into their design and had bridesmaid dresses made from sari material.
A couple of notable surprises included a visit from a gourmet food truck serving authentic Mexican goodies for a late night snack and a performance by a traditional Turkish belly dancer during dinner.
The exquisite lighting for the event was designed by the talented OCAV and our friends at The Food Matters provided the exceptional seasonal cuisine.

Today we wanted to share a classic black & white wedding by Deanna Tat of Chic Ambience Events and shot by Priscila Valentina Photography. This fun-loving couple came to us all the way from Phoenix, Arizona looking for a stylish Downtown LA venue for their ceremony and reception.
For her wedding day ensemble, the bride wore a pleated satin gown with crystal appliqués and a lovely pair of royal blue pumps. Her bouquet consisted of white hydrangea, roses, mini calla lilies and tulips, while each of her four bridesmaids individually represented the four types of flowers in their own bouquets.
We loved the sophisticated black & white cake dripping in pearls by Artistic Cakes & the purple mood lighting by OCAV. DJ Nahchey provided the entertainment for the evening, and once the music started, the guests never left the dance-floor!
