Classic Black & White Wedding by Chic Ambience Events

Happy Wedding Wednesday!

Today we wanted to share a classic black & white wedding by Deanna Tat of Chic Ambience Events and shot by Priscila Valentina Photography. This fun-loving couple came to us all the way from Phoenix, Arizona looking for a stylish Downtown LA venue for their ceremony and reception.

For her wedding day ensemble, the bride wore a pleated satin gown with crystal appliqués and a lovely pair of royal blue pumps. Her bouquet consisted of white hydrangea, roses, mini calla lilies and tulips, while each of her four bridesmaids individually represented the four types of flowers in their own bouquets.

We loved the sophisticated black & white cake dripping in pearls by Artistic Cakes & the purple mood lighting by OCAV. DJ Nahchey provided the entertainment for the evening, and once the music started, the guests never left the dance-floor!

Organic Elegance by Sterling Engagements & Next Exit Photography

When one of our clients told us they were using Sterling Engagements and Next Exit Photography for their “organic elegance” wedding last December, we knew it would be an event to remember!

Alexandra from Sterling Engagements wrote a great post about it on the Next Exit Blog and we wanted to share it with you, along with Next Exit’s beautiful wedding photos.  To see more from this very special event, or other work by Next Exit, visit their site.

“I was introduced to Tracy and Kramer by past clients who were long time friends of Tracy’s.  We connected at the end of May to plan their December wedding.  In just six short months we planned their organic elegance wedding.  When we first met they described their perfect venue as aged with character and a gorgeous structure.  I immediately suggested Vibiana as its history and glamour seemed like the perfect fit.
Tracy and Kramer both work hard and when they aren’t working, they’re either traveling or enjoying great food and wine amongst each other or with friends.  Keeping this in mind, I knew we had to pair them with a caterer that understood what a true foodie bride and groom would appreciate on their special day.  Steve Fortunato of Room Forty was the ideal fit to assist them with a top-shelf dinner for their day.  Once we selected their venue and caterer, all the additional details just flowed effortlessly.
Tracy worked with a family friend at Paper Pushers to design their amazing wedding invitations which displayed a photo of her maternal grandparents on their wedding day.  This was one of my favorite details from her day.
For the design, it was important to both Tracy and Kramer to create something modern and organic but still rustic with an elegant undertone.  Susan from Peony and Plum designed the most gorgeous centerpieces incorporating succulents, orchids, garden roses, scabiosa pods, seeded eucalyptus and more.  They were set in beautiful wood boxes and paired with candles.  They really wanted a natural look as the space itself is so gorgeous they didn’t want to compete with it but rather enhance it.  The amazing lighting Amber Event Productions assisted us with really took it to another level as well.
When it came to who would document the day, it was really important to Tracy and Kramer that they selected a team that not only took amazing photos, but also focused on capturing natural candids, as this was a priority.  When Cat and Adi of Next Exit Photography and Camron of New Classic Films were selected, I was elated as they both are two of my favorites to document a day.
There was a conversation during the planning process where Tracy and I discussed the day.  I remember telling her at that moment that her wedding day would be warm, magical, exceedingly special, filled with love, good friends and family.  Looking back, Tracy and Kramer’s day was just that and I am so honored I was able to be a part of it. ” — Alex

Modern DIY Inspiration Shoot

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a fun, modern, DIY inspiration shoot designed by the wonderful Amanda Auer of In The Now Weddings. Paired with the talents of Jasmine Star and the drink station, beautiful entrées for the main tabletop and cake & goodies by Jay’s Catering, we knew this shoot would be a stunner!

Amanda began with a neon color palette and a monogrammed ‘plus’ motif that was carried through just about every DIY element of the shoot. Custom clear confetti were packed in clear mini shipping tubes and labeled “Toss” for the bride and groom’s walk back down the aisle. A “Relief Kit” containing tomato juice, pepper vodka and salty snacks was created to give out as favors for the late night wedding guests.

Our favorite out-of-the-box design element for the shoot was the bar set up. Neon blue plexi-glass was used to make floating shelves and the “Sip” signage for the front of the bar created a total visual pop. A signature cocktail named the Smitten Kitten crafted by Jay’s Catering perfectly mirrored the bright color palette and was accompanied by neon yellow banana peppers, rock candy swizzle sticks and hand-cut watermelon ‘plus’ garnishes.

Urban Chic Elegance Featured on Style Me Pretty

We are pleased to present yet another absolutely gorgeous wedding by Amber Gustafson of Amber Events. This particular wedding is at the very top of our 2011 favorites and was just featured last week on the prestigious Style Me Pretty!

From the custom chantilly lace tablecloths designed to mirror the bride’s lacy details on her gown, to the pops of cream, soft pinks and saturated fuchsia and the warm glow of candles that covered the altar, this wedding was the picture of elegance. Black and white striped furniture alongside gilded full length mirrors created a sophisticated, yet relaxed nook for guests who wished to lounge during the event.  Of course, the lounge matched perfectly with the black and white checkerboard pattern of the dance floor where the other guests danced the night away.

Our favorite romantic detail of the evening was the private sweetheart table set up for the bride and groom during cocktail hour. Placed underneath the beautifully detailed gold dome in the grand foyer, the table was covered in sweet photographs of some of the couple’s most cherished memories together and it was meant to be a quiet space where the newlyweds could spend a few intimate moments with one another to reflect on the beginning of their new journey.

A big thank you to all of our wonderful vendors that made this wedding so special: Callaway Gable Photography, Holly Flora, The Food Matters, OCAV, Pacific Coast Bar & Beverage, DJ Nahchey, Designer Specialty Linens, and of course, Amber and the Amber Events team.
